Fishing Tips

I fish Lake Fork Texas on a daily basis and have for several years.

Two things I see that people do the most that keeps them from hooking into nice fish is run the banks and fish too fast.

Fishing hotspots:

humps
deeper grass

Remember to fish slowly for best results!

Jan. through March during the prespawn is when the fish are at their heaviest, try them in 10′ or less of water just off a dropoff or close to structures.

May through July is best for the deeper fishing on Lake Fork Texas, in and around structures. And again, a slow retreival will most times reward you. Also, don’t be afraid to just let the lure hang for a bit sometimes, of course you’ll need to be aware of the grass and/or tree structure that can grab that bait as fast as a lunker bass!

Too hot for fishing in mid summer? Try some night fishing with spinner baits or plastic worms, escape the heat and hook into a lunker!

A 5 bass per day limit can be kept, consisting of 5 fish under 16 inches or 1 over 24 inches, and 4 under 16 inches.
